Hello.

Want to know a bit more?

Elspeth Walker is a writer and language artist, currently studying her MA Writing at the Royal College of Art in London. In between developing her practice, she works at the National Poetry Library and Lavender Arts School, whilst being part of Liquid Gold Studios Collective, and trustee at The Photographers Gallery. She mostly writes creative/non-academic essays, as well as experimenting with the relationship between writing and materials.

During 2022 she self-published her first pamphlet Oh Banana which was subsequently stocked by TACO, Books Peckham, and the GOOD PRESS. She has since gone on to produce various zines on her own and part of a collective Silken Reference which have been stocked and archived at: The Photographers Gallery, GOOD PRESS, Books Peckham, Glasgow Zine Library, Common Thread Press (upcoming), Beinechke Library (Yale University, USA), and the National Poetry Library.

In 2022 she also participated in the Pure Class exhibition in Bethnal Green, showing two works from her Everyday series, including a collaboration with Yasmeen Melius. She also was also invited to feature one of her works, I want to be a seahorse at Omitted References. In June 2022, she undertook a zine residency at Fish Factory, Penryn, Cornwall. In January 2023 she also took part in 21 Day Conversation, 42 Artists, curated by Annette Fernando, in Earls Court.

At the end of 2022 she was announced as one of the runners up for the White Chapel Young Writer in Residence. She continues to write for various publications such as Agora Digital Art, and Culturala Journal.
