Descoverartists 2020 Winter Zine.

Descoverartists is a residency programme and collective, established to look at collaborative practises and the blurring of conventional mediums in art. The Winter Zine is their first publication that is home to a variety of articles and thought pieces surrounding the themes of practise and collaboration, alongside responses to the residency from many artists and writers.

For this print edition I wrote two feature articles: Whose Name is on the Plaque and Artists Need Adaptability.

This piece looks at art ownership, and the line between art technician aiding an artists vision and the act of collaboration, provoking the question: what constitutes a piece of art as an artists own work and not a collaborative effort?

Why Artists Need Adaptability.

This article explores how many artists have to be adaptable within in their practises in order to continue to create work: from economic constraints to societal barriers, it delves into the meaning of success and the reality of an artist’s practise, including an interview with practising artist CREO/Jack Rooney.
